A Nigerian lady has expressed her strong opinion that fellow women should feel disrespected and insulted if a man invites them into his untidy or dirty house.
In a Facebook post, the lady, identified as Confidence Maye Utomi, voiced her disapproval of women who, upon visiting a man's house, immediately start cleaning and tidying up his mess.
She emphasized that a woman should not tolerate being invited to a man's unkempt home and should feel insulted instead of offering to clean. Confidence urged women to maintain their dignity and not let a man’s lack of regard for cleanliness make them feel obligated to fix his environment. She wrote, “You go to a man’s house, the house is messed up, kitchen untidy, things unkempt. Instead of you feeling insulted that he has no regard for you by inviting you to such a place, you begin to sweep, wash, and cook. Some you don’t have small pride at all.”
Her post, which has sparked mixed reactions on social media, encourages women to set boundaries and to value themselves enough not to tolerate disrespect, even in seemingly small things like a dirty living space.
