Loveth Helen Alo, the woman who made false claims of owning a five-bedroom duplex, has been arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court, where she is facing multiple charges related to fraud and deception.
Her arraignment follows the controversial false testimony she delivered at Zion ministry, where she claimed that God miraculously blessed her with a luxury home, a testimony that later turned out to be fabricated.
According to SP Daniel Ndukwe, spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, the suspect was apprehended by detectives from the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department. The arrest took place on February 1, 2025, after a petition was filed, accusing her of falsely claiming ownership of a five-bedroom duplex located in the prestigious WTC Estate, Enugu.
The shocking revelation gained widespread attention after Alo’s testimony at the Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos. During the service, she passionately declared that divine intervention had led to her acquiring the property, drawing applause and admiration from the congregation.
However, the situation took a drastic turn when it was discovered that her claims were untrue. Under police interrogation, she confessed to fabricating the story and admitted that she acted alone without external influence.
Following the investigation, she was charged with five offenses, including fraud, defamation, and attempted property theft. The prosecution argued that her actions had not only deceived the public but also defamed the true owner of the property.
Despite the severity of the allegations, she was granted bail under strict conditions while awaiting further legal proceedings. The court has scheduled the next hearing for April 9, 2025, where more details regarding the case will unfold.
