U.S. President Donald Trump has officially confirmed that the United States carried out a series of coordinated airstrikes on Saturday night, June 21, targeting three critical nuclear facilities in Iran. In a message posted via X (formerly Twitter), President Trump revealed that the sites targeted were Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—locations that serve as the backbone of Iran's uranium enrichment and nuclear development programs. These facilities have been subjects of international concern for years due to their potential to produce weapons-grade material.

President Trump’s message read:

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

According to senior U.S. defense officials, the precision operation involved the deployment of America’s advanced B-2 Spirit stealth bombers. These aircraft were equipped with the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs, each weighing 30,000 pounds. These are designed to breach and destroy deeply buried fortified structures, such as the Iranian nuclear facility at Fordow, which is embedded deep within a mountain.

The B-2 Spirit, renowned for its stealth capabilities, is currently the only U.S. military platform capable of carrying and delivering these bunker-busting munitions. The aircraft’s ability to avoid radar detection played a crucial role in the success of this high-stakes mission.

Among the three locations targeted, the Fordow nuclear facility was reportedly the primary focus due to its high-grade uranium enrichment capabilities. Intelligence assessments from Western nations have long warned about Fordow’s strategic role in advancing Iran’s potential nuclear weapons program, making it a high-priority target.

The operation marks a significant escalation in tensions between the United States and Iran, and it underscores the Pentagon's readiness to carry out high-precision strikes when national or global security is perceived to be at risk. The move has drawn international attention, with global powers expected to respond diplomatically in the coming days.
