U.S. President Donald Trump has officially confirmed that the United States carried out a series of coordinated airstrikes on Saturday night, June 21, targeting three critical nuclear facilities in Iran. The strikes, according to President Trump, were part of a strategic military operation aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
The announcement was made through Trump’s verified social media platforms, where he emphasized the precision, planning, and success of the operation.
In a message posted via X (formerly Twitter), President Trump revealed that the sites targeted were Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—locations that serve as the backbone of Iran's uranium enrichment and nuclear development programs. These facilities have been subjects of international concern for years due to their potential to produce weapons-grade material.
President Trump’s message read:
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. These aircraft were equipped with the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs, each weighing 30,000 pounds.
