A Nigerian police officer has become the subject of widespread discussion on social media after a video emerged showing him discreetly counting a bundle of money behind a vehicle during active duty hours.
The now-viral clip was originally posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, who hinted at questionable conduct by the officer in the post’s caption.
In the short footage, the uniformed officer is seen wearing a face cap and crouching behind a parked car, away from public view, as he meticulously counts what appears to be a significant amount of cash. The way the act was carried out suggested an intent to avoid being noticed.
As soon as the video hit social media platforms, it rapidly gained attention and triggered an influx of reactions from Nigerians, many of whom condemned the officer’s actions, labeling them as unethical and suspicious. Others, however, responded with sarcasm and humor, interpreting the situation as just another example of everyday hustling within the system.
