A heavy rainstorm in Warri, Delta State, has wreaked serious havoc on a residential building, causing panic and fear among residents as the storm tore through the community. The force of the rain completely ripped off the building’s roof, destroyed the ceiling, and left multiple rooms in ruins, forcing terrified occupants to flee their homes in search of safety.
Details of the incident surfaced online after a video capturing the aftermath was uploaded on the popular social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The distressing clip showed the building’s detached roof lying helplessly on the ground, having been forcefully removed by the storm’s intense wind. The video also displayed heartbreaking scenes of the interior, where heavy blocks from the rooftop had fallen, littering the rooms and damaging household items beyond recognition.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the impact of the rainstorm was particularly severe on the upper floors of the building, where most of the destruction occurred. However, it was gathered that those residing on the lower floors experienced little or no damage and were fortunate to avoid serious harm.
