He recalled the day he placed the ₦100 bet, with his excitement heightened by the presence of a girl he was with. He believed that the girl was his good luck charm and, in a jubilant mood, promised to surprise her the following morning. The luck seemed to be on his side as he won ₦6 million, and the night was filled with joy and celebration.

However, in the heat of the moment and fueled by the belief that the girl’s presence was the source of his luck, he continued betting throughout the night. Unfortunately, the tables soon turned. Despite his earlier winnings, he began losing heavily, eventually draining not only the ₦6 million but also the rest of the money in his bank account. His overconfidence had gotten the better of him, and what seemed like an easy path to more winnings became his undoing.

In his post, he detailed the chain of events, saying: “I just remembered when I was so into Bet9ja virtual. I lodged with one babe, that night I made ₦6m with ₦100. I strongly believed that girl brought me luck. I was so excited, I told her she brought me good luck. Mama head dey swell, I promised to surprise her in the morning.”

He continued: “She gave me her best styles that night, the girl waist be like steering. I was having the time of my life. I stayed up all night, trying to ‘kill’ Bet9ja. Then suddenly, the narrative changed. I started staking with overconfidence because staking power don dey. I lost everything before daybreak.”

He also shared his desperation in trying to recover his losses, saying, “I deposited again to recover, but they collected it all. That night, Bournemouth beat Man City 12 times (home and away in 6 seasons) — how is that possible? Bet9ja finished me that night. Before it got any worse, I left the hotel around 5am, leaving ₦1k under the pillow for her.”

He expressed regret and lamented his situation, adding: “She couldn’t believe her eyes. She had thought I would double her pay or bless her with ₦200k. But I had to save myself. Things I’m not proud of. How would I explain that ₦6m, including my savings in Access Bank, were all gone? Quit betting today!!”

As the post went viral, many people flooded the comment section to offer their thoughts and opinions on the matter. Some expressed sympathy, while others criticized his actions, especially in relation to gambling addiction. Here are some reactions from the post's comment section:

@lilshaq_yrn: “If this is true, I’m happy you lost it all. Mfs go dey shout stop betting everywhere. How about you guys stop being greedy bastards.”
