A Nigerian man has broken his silence with a lengthy and emotional account after his ex accused him of evicting her from their shared apartment, despite her alleged contribution to rent. His side of the story, shared online, paints a picture of a deeply troubled relationship, full of love, betrayal, sacrifice, and emotional turmoil.
According to his post, the relationship began in 2022 when they first met under modest circumstances — he was still a student living with his aunt, while she had already established herself in Lagos with a business introduced to her by her former partner. Despite some red flags, including her initial denial of having a child, which she later confessed, he chose to remain in the relationship and even took on the role of a father figure to her son.
He described how he became emotionally and financially invested, contributing to the child's upbringing, school fees, and even sending money to her mother. However, he soon discovered that she had been dishonest with him, continuing to communicate intimately with her ex and engaging with other men online.
Despite this, he chose to forgive and move forward, believing in their bond. But things took a darker turn as the relationship became more toxic. He accused her of manipulating him emotionally, hiding money, and resorting to physical violence, including an incident that led to a dislocated shoulder.
The man stated that he gave everything — emotionally, physically, and financially — only to end up broken and with nothing to his name. He claimed he helped her business grow, moved to Lagos for her, and even shared rent in a new apartment, only for their relationship to fall apart soon after they moved in.
When the situation became unbearable, he broke off the relationship. According to him, she agreed to move out and did so eventually, but not before one final act of deception — faking a family emergency to get money. He later found out the story was fabricated.
He concluded that despite her public claims, he had done his best to protect and support her. He also revealed that he sold shared household items like the generator and air conditioner to settle her debts discreetly. He now warns that if the accusations against him persist, he is ready to take legal action.
