A distressed Nigerian man has made a desperate public plea after his brother was reportedly kidnapped in the Igbelara area of Ikorodu and forcibly taken into a nearby forest.

This heartbreaking incident was captured in a video shared widely on the popular social media platform, TikTok, drawing attention to the alarming security situation in the area.

In the video, the man recounts the terrifying ordeal, explaining that his brother was abducted by unknown kidnappers who fled with him through the dense bushland adjacent to their street.

He expressed frustration that although police officers had arrived at the scene since the previous night, no rescue operation has been successfully carried out to recover his brother despite clear signs and evidence found within the forested area.

He sharply criticized the law enforcement officials for lacking the necessary expertise and courage to handle the critical situation, accusing them of refusing to venture deep into the forest and instead merely standing at its edge, doing little to resolve the crisis.

According to the man, the kidnappers were spotted the night before the incident, using torchlights while moving through the bush, and gunshots were reportedly heard from inside the forest, indicating the dangerous nature of the abduction.

He narrated: “This is my brother’s car. He was kidnapped on this street. According to information, the kidnappers went with him through the forest. Police have been here since last night without any result. They just stand at the edge of the forest—no one is entering.”

He added further details: “My senior brother was kidnapped in Ikorodu last night. My mum called me around 12 a.m. We initially thought it was a normal kidnapping or maybe a business-related issue because he is a building contractor. Since then, we haven’t heard anything.”

He also mentioned that police officers observed clear signs of the kidnappers’ torchlight and heard gunshots in the swampy forest when they arrived, but, unfortunately, failed to take effective action.

The video has since gone viral online, eliciting a strong reaction from concerned Nigerians who took to the comment section to express their shock, fear, and calls for urgent intervention.
