The man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @BigDicksoon, shared how he had been speaking to the lady for four months and finally decided to take her out on a date. According to him, he spent ₦45,000 on food, ₦30,000 for her dress, booked a ₦7,000 cab, and also sent her ₦20,000 cash.

However, he was shocked when a mutual friend informed him that the lady had ridiculed him in a private group chat with her friends, claiming she had "used" him and described him as a fool for not requesting sex in return for his generosity.

He wrote: “I invited this girl out, spent over ₦45k on food and sent her extra ₦20k, booked a ₦7k cab for her, and she went to tell her friends she used me and I’m a fool ’cause I didn’t request sex as a gentleman.”

The man also revealed that despite spending ₦30k on a dress for her, she didn’t wear it and instead opted for an older outfit. Adding insult to injury, the lady later dismissed him as someone unworthy of dating because he didn’t attend a university.

Following his viral post, he shared that the lady later messaged him privately, begging him to take down the post, but also hurling curses at him in frustration.

The incident has generated strong reactions across social media, with many sympathizing with the man while others used the opportunity to highlight lessons in emotional and financial boundaries in dating.

@Ohlee_vah: “But bro it’s obvious from the chat this babe didn’t like you. She just noticed you like her and started running extraction policy on your head.”

@shokaholic: “Nothing concern me with all this talk as you decide say you no wan get sense, my own be say wetin you use as your WhatsApp background picture? Make e be like say I no well 😂.”

@max_misk: “I’m happy you’ve learnt, but wait, you’re not done learning. I’m very sure you’ll be tempted to try it again. Don’t argue. Be on guard.”

@JoeDesign01: “I understand that you’re in love, bro. Normally, you would want to please the lady you love. I’ve been in your shoes. I just hope you’ve learnt your lesson.”

@SaintMichaell: “Too many things wrong in this chat. She really met a mugu and you played right into her trap. How can a normal lady ask for three dresses ₦90k, and when you pay for one, she still demands ₦200k?”

@courageofibadan: “I love the fact that you’ve learned the hard way. You should never be in a transactional relationship. If she can’t afford to come to the location of a date, she is a hungry fellow and an OS.”
