A Nigerian man has recounted his terrifying experience after narrowly escaping an attempted abduction by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Delta State. The incident reportedly occurred along a quiet road in Abraka, a town in Delta, and has since drawn significant reactions from Nigerians online.
Sharing the details in a post on the popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the victim narrated how he and his friends had just parked their vehicle by the roadside when a group of armed men suddenly emerged from the surrounding bush and ordered them to stop.

Sensing danger, the man quickly engaged the reverse gear and sped off, managing to escape the attack. However, the vehicle was not spared, as it was reportedly riddled with bullets fired by the kidnappers during the chase.
In a video posted online, several bullet holes can be seen scattered across the body of the car, while the visibly shaken man narrated what transpired. He said: “As we parked our car here and entered, they immediately came out of the bush and shouted, ‘Hey!’ We reversed and took off instantly. God saved us.”
The shocking post quickly gained traction, with many Nigerians flooding the comment section to condemn the growing insecurity in the South and call for immediate government intervention. Several users pointed out the persistent and unchecked presence of armed herdsmen in Delta and other parts of southern Nigeria.
See some reactions below:
@SpiceyMall57010: “They are everywhere in the South unleashing terror, it’s a truly dire situation.”
@jiggleG_: “Harmless hunters carrying guns mistakenly shot at the car, and they were passing through Asaba to Kano for festival, stop accusing them.”
@eddiemorphy5: “This is happening and your governor is busy talking about elections lol.”
@Awele60930222: “If una give those kidnappers the Uromi treatment, their masters will claim they are merely hunters.”
@EzehChief: “This will not trend until they catch suspected terrorist kidnappers cum hunters and self-defense occurs. Then all social media warriors will be let loose.”
@chidi77196004: “This Fulani do they have 2 heads? Why can’t you organize yourselves and go into the forest and end their miserable existence?”
Many called on security operatives in Delta State to urgently intensify their operations in forested areas suspected to be hideouts for kidnappers and bandits.
The eyewitness, who shared the video clip, further appealed to the government and residents of Delta to stay vigilant and safe while moving along isolated roads and highways.
