A Nigerian man has decided to call off his engagement after stumbling upon a shocking conversation between his fiancée and WhatsApp AI. The man shared this revelation on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where he explained the reason for his decision. According to the post, the man discovered that his fiancée had once asked the AI: “How can a cheating partner stop cheating on her fiancé?”
The man further clarified that he had always known that his fiancée enjoyed using the AI for various ideas, ranging from birthday gift suggestions to meal ideas based on his preferences. He stated, however, that just over two months after their engagement, he became curious and decided to search through her AI chat history. He searched for the word “fiancé” in the chat history, hoping to find something sweet or related to the proposal, but what he uncovered left him in shock.
He wrote, “I knew how much she liked speaking to the AI about me… birthday gift ideas for him, his favorite meal ideas, and all that. Two months after I proposed, I searched for ‘fiancé’ in her AI chats — just to smile if she had talked about the proposal — and this was what I saw.”
The man also explained that he and his fiancée had been in a relationship for six years, and they started living together in their fourth year. Despite their long history, the discovery of the conversation about cheating was enough to make him call off the engagement without any explanation to her. He shared that to this day, she still doesn’t know the real reason why he ended the relationship. He added, “She was in her final year, and her mom hates me with a passion.”
