A Biochemistry student at Lagos State University (LASU) was left heartbroken and emotional after receiving an ‘F’ grade in one of her courses, despite her claims of thorough preparation and hard work for the exam.
In a deeply emotional video that has since gone viral on her TikTok page, the young student could be seen in tears, expressing intense frustration and disappointment over what she described as a failed educational system.
She passionately called out the perceived injustice of the grading process and criticized the university system, describing her academic journey as a complete scam. According to her, students are often misled into thinking that effort and study alone will guarantee success, only to be met with unexpected failure.
“LASU, thank you for ruining my life,” she said. “Why do people fail? You actually read everything and still fail. Then the lecturer says, ‘I don’t want you guys to fail, we’re also parents.’ But you go ahead and fail someone else’s child. Do you find joy in that? Are you guys evil? Don’t go to university, guys—it’s a scam.”

The heartbreaking video triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with users expressing a mix of sympathy, shared pain, and advice on how to navigate academic life in Nigeria.
Some users offered practical suggestions like appealing the result, while others shared their own experiences and criticized the grading standards of certain lecturers.
See some reactions below:
VICTOR: “If you’re sure you wrote what is correct, you can actually appeal for your result. Rewrite the exam.”
Isioma Sybil: “…. comeback is to point out where the problem is, know what is REQUIRED of you to write and not what you think can be accepted. School isn’t a scam my dear❤️.”
Tope Zainab787: “Lol let me tell you my story 🤣🤣🤣 I was in final year LIDC released our result one of my course was showing ZERO senate has started approving results I went to meet the lecturer incharge she said.”
therealiod: “Studying hard for a Lasu examination is never enough. You just need to know what your lecturers want in the answer sheet.”
Eazycush: “U will read and be getting 40, 45 someone dat cheated will be scoring 60 70 very annoying lol.”
SirPenky: “Try and be friends with those doing well in their exams. Sometimes u will think u did well in an exam but u actually didn’t. I graduated from LASU 11 years ago; lecturers won’t fail u deliberately.”
Ayo_. 🌹: “I see people saying that you can appeal and I’m laughing because I’m also a victim of this.”
Stephen David: “I really hope you find solace and strength to go on, they’re just grades. They don’t ultimately determine how you turn out to be.”
