A young lady has sparked widespread conversation on social media after disclosing the unexpected reason she decided to end her relationship with her boyfriend. The revelation has since gone viral, attracting a wave of mixed reactions from internet users.
The lady, who is identified as Bhadie on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), shared that her decision to part ways with her 34-year-old boyfriend was influenced by what she described as his excessive obsession with Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
According to Bhadie, her ex-boyfriend referred to Wizkid as his “Popsy,” a term of endearment that is often used by fans. However, she found it inappropriate and childish for a man of his age to be so immersed in celebrity fandom to the extent of prioritizing it over their relationship.
She described how his admiration for Wizkid had consumed much of his personal space. Portraits of the music star were reportedly found all over — on the windshield of his car like a commercial bus (danfo), adorning the walls of his living room, and even as the screensaver on his television and mobile devices.
What upset her further was that none of these displays featured her, despite being his girlfriend. She felt overlooked and unappreciated, noting that her presence was absent in his everyday life and surroundings while the singer seemed to have taken center stage.
Sharing her frustrations in a tweet, Bhadie wrote: “I dumped him because he said Wizkid is his popsy. A grown up ass 34y old. Some people can really be addicted. They don’t even realize. He had his popsy pics on his car windshield like a danfo bus. Had a portrait in his living room. Screen saver nko not even me his so called babe.
