A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing a leaked WhatsApp chat, revealing how a POS agent obtained her contact details from her account number and proceeded to ask her out.
The lady, who posted the screenshots on her page via the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), expressed shock at the agent’s bold approach.
In her post, she captioned it: “You went to withdraw, and the POS attendant texted you through your Opay number.”
The leaked chat revealed how the POS agent initiated the conversation by introducing himself as the “fine boy” she had withdrawn money from earlier that day. He then expressed his romantic interest, making playful advances toward her.
Despite the lady's apparent surprise, the agent remained persistent, even going as far as inviting her to visit his shop, mentioning that his boss was not around. He attempted to impress her by offering to buy her yogurt and fried yam.
Part of his message read: “I’m the fine boy you came to withdraw from this morning. I like you, I want to chop your work.”
He continued: “My boss is not around, come to my shop let’s talk. I’ll buy you yoghurt. I’m in love with you, I’ll buy you fried yam.”
The lady, amused and slightly uncomfortable by his persistence, shared the entire conversation online, leading to widespread discussions among social media users.
As the post gained traction, many Nigerians took to the comment section to express their thoughts, with some finding the situation hilarious while others raised concerns about privacy and data security.
