Lady recounts emotional experience with her ex-boyfriend, who took back everything he ever bought for her after she turned down his marriage proposal.
The woman, identified as Nkemdilim Love, took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking ordeal, revealing how her refusal to accept a marriage proposal led to the end of their relationship and the unexpected consequences that followed.
According to Nkemdilim, she and her ex had dated for quite some time, and during the relationship, he proposed marriage to her. Unfortunately, she was not ready to take that step, and she declined his proposal.
In what seemed like an act of retaliation or deep emotional hurt, the ex-boyfriend returned to collect everything he had ever gifted her throughout their relationship. This included furniture, appliances, and other valuable items, which she estimated to be worth nearly 3 million naira.
Despite the financial value of the items, Nkemdilim expressed that what hurt her most wasn't the loss of property but the feeling of being used and unappreciated for all she had given in the relationship.
Her post read: “So my Nsukka ex-boyfriend came and carried all the things he bought for me because I didn’t marry him. I refunded him with 2.1 million Naira worth of property. Am not pained but I just feel used.”
She further explained that she went the extra mile by not just returning the property, but also purchasing new ones for him and even sending him some money. Her words continued: “I gave him everything back yesterday. Me sef no believe am lol. I bought new property for him and refunded him some money as well.”
In a follow-up post, Nkemdilim gave more insight into their past, stating that during their relationship, she had made significant sacrifices. She fed him, clothed him, and paid his rent for 9 years — from their university days until recently.
She even revealed that she spent 1.8 million naira on his medical bills when he was diagnosed with a mental illness.
