Israel Confirms Killing of 3 Top Iranian Commanders in Renewed Airstrikes

Three of Iran’s top military commanders have been confirmed dead following a new round of Israeli airstrikes that hit several locations across the Islamic Republic on Saturday. The strikes are part of a continuing military campaign that has significantly escalated tensions in the region.

Among the dead is Saeed Izadi, a high-ranking Iranian officer widely known for managing Tehran’s military and intelligence coordination with Hamas. According to reports from Israel’s Defense Ministry, Izadi was specifically targeted and killed in the city of Qom, located just south of the capital, Tehran.

In addition to Izadi, two senior commanders from Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) were also killed in separate strikes conducted as part of this intensified aerial offensive.

The targeted killings mark a significant escalation in hostilities between the two nations, which have been locked in a cycle of attack and counterattack since June 13, when Israel launched a widespread military operation targeting Iranian military infrastructure.

Reacting to the latest developments, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated during an interview with German media outlet Bild that the airstrikes have already succeeded in delaying Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

“By our assessment, we’ve already delayed their ability to develop a nuclear bomb by at least two or three years,” Saar said. “We will do everything within our capacity to remove this threat.”

Saar emphasized that Israel views Iran’s nuclear progress as an existential threat, and that preemptive military actions are not only justified but necessary to prevent Tehran from achieving nuclear weapons capability.

The renewed wave of strikes reportedly included a second round of bombing on the Isfahan nuclear facility, along with simultaneous attacks on missile storage and launch sites across central Iran.

The Israeli military has remained firm in its stance, stating that its operations are guided by verified intelligence indicating that Iran was nearing a “point of no return” in its nuclear development timeline.

With neither side backing down, the international community remains on edge, closely monitoring the situation for any signs of wider regional destabilization or all-out war. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the growing conflict have so far yielded little progress.[/p>
