A heartbroken wife has taken to social media to lament after her husband forcefully threw her out of their marital home along with their children simply because she refused to be intimate with him one rainy night.
The distressing story was shared widely on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @Teeniiola, who uploaded a video clip where the woman described the painful ordeal she experienced at the hands of her husband.
According to her account, the woman explained that her husband gave her only ₦1,000 to manage as food money for herself and their five children. With this meager amount, she purchased sugar and groundnuts to complement the Garri they had at home so that the family could at least have something to eat.
Later that night, while it was raining heavily and the weather was cold, her husband demanded intimacy. Exhausted from the day's struggles and feeling physically drained, she politely told him that she was too tired and didn't have the energy to engage with him that night.
Her refusal provoked an extreme reaction. Instead of understanding her condition, her husband angrily packed all her personal belongings as well as the children’s clothes and threw them outside the house. He ordered her to vacate the premises immediately, leaving her and the children stranded in the rain.
In tears and with deep sorrow, she pleaded to the public, saying, “People, help me, don’t let me suffer in vain. Look at my clothes outside—I didn’t do anything wrong. He is my husband, and I have five children for him.”
She further recounted, “He gave me ₦1,000 for food, and I used it to buy sugar and groundnuts so the children and I could at least eat. That same night, it was raining and he insisted on sleeping with me, but I was too tired after preparing food and taking care of the kids. Because of that, he packed all our things outside and told me to find somewhere else to stay.”
She ended her plea by revealing the harsh reality she now faces: “Myself and the kids are now sleeping in an unfinished building, with no one to help us or provide shelter.”
The heartbreaking story quickly gained traction online, sparking a flurry of reactions from concerned social media users who filled the comment section with mixed emotions, ranging from anger to disbelief and sympathy.
