A Ghanaian lady has stirred massive outrage across social media platforms after being accused of faking a fibroid diagnosis in order to solicit financial support from unsuspecting donors. Shockingly, instead of using the money for the alleged medical procedure, she reportedly spent it on purchasing a new fridge and turkey to launch her personal business venture.

This revelation was made by X (formerly Twitter) user @Hybrid_Ola, who shared that the woman presented an ultrasound scan to add legitimacy to her fabricated story and succeeded in raising ₦722,000. The funds, according to the post, were not used for surgery but rather for setting up a small-scale business.

Ghanaian lady allegedly fakes fibroid, uses donations for business.

“She asked people to help her with surgery for fibroids. She even provided an ultrasound to make her story look legit. ₦722k was contributed for her, only for people to later find out she never had fibroids and used the money to buy a fridge,” the post from @Hybrid_Ola read.

According to the user, although the woman is Ghanaian, the majority of the financial help came from her Nigerian friends and followers who sympathized with her fabricated health condition and contributed in good faith.

“She’s Ghanaian, but everyone who donated to her are her friends in Nigeria,” the user added, while also sharing a video allegedly showing the items the woman bought with the donated money.

The post has since gone viral and sparked heated debates and emotional reactions online. Many users in the comment section expressed disappointment and anger, with some lamenting how such deceit discourages genuine acts of kindness and charitable giving.
