Basola Jamiu Owodunni, the brilliant Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) student whose admission had been controversially flagged as fake by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB, has finally been cleared after months of uncertainty and public outcry. Despite graduating with an impressive 4.41 CGPA in Civil Engineering, he initially faced the shocking revelation that his admission was allegedly not authentic, causing him immense distress and threatening his future prospects.
This important development was confirmed and widely celebrated by the popular educator and education advocate, Alex Onyia, who played a major role in amplifying Basola’s story and pushing for a resolution from the relevant authorities.
According to Alex Onyia, Basola can now officially access his JAMB portal without any restrictions and will be able to proceed to join the upcoming batch for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), allowing him to finally move forward with his career and professional development.
In a broader positive update, it was also revealed that over 4,000 other students who had been similarly accused of possessing fake admissions or faced related discrepancies have now had their cases successfully resolved. This mass resolution marks a significant victory for students across Nigeria who have been unfairly affected by systemic issues within the admission process.

“I have an update regarding Basola Jamiu Owodunni, the FUTA civil engineer student whose admission was earlier marked as FAKE from JAMB after graduating with CGPA 4.41 in Civil Engineering.
The good news is that it has been resolved. He can now now access his JAMB portal and also he will be going for NYSC next batch.
In addition, 4000 plus more students with similar issues have been resolved.”

@donald_segun said: “This situation happened in the first place because someone refused to do his/her job. The student was humiliated and branded a criminal all because of the dereliction of duty of a lazy, incompetent civil servant.
The most irksome thing is we will never know the civil servant(s) responsible for the predicament of Basola and the other 4000 students who had the same problem. He will probably never be punished and the laziness inherent in staffs like that will continue to affect students in their thousands. This problem is enough to get the people involved sacked and prosecuted. Basola could have harmed himself if this was resolved.
Thank you for fighting for Basola and the rest of the affected students.”
@Irishkreamy stated: “Village people don lose this fight.”
