A final year student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has caused a stir across social media after openly sharing his 100-level second semester result, which showed he failed eight courses with an F grade while scoring only two As.
The revelation came to light when the student, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @meloadebanks_, responded to a trending tweet about academic struggles. In his tweet, he humorously admitted: “A carryover ke? I carried the whole semester 😤. I had to resit for all!”
His result quickly went viral due to the unusual combination of grades. When another user, @debowaleolusola, asked if he actually sat for the exams, he candidly replied: “Yes, I didn’t. I wanted to drop out. Was suicidal. I was dancing with the devil and messing with dangerous people.”
He went on to reveal that he only attended practical courses, which is why he earned the two As, but he skipped the other exams due to personal challenges and a period of deep emotional turmoil. He also admitted to truancy during that phase of his life, saying he felt lost and was on the verge of quitting school altogether.
Despite this rough start, he shared that he has since bounced back academically. According to him, he eventually rewrote all the failed courses. “I cleared all except four courses, which I dropped in 300 level and retook during the just concluded 500-level second semester. I’m now awaiting the results next week Thursday,” he explained, giving hope to others facing similar struggles.
