Tragedy strikes Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a young couple, Alexus Lee and John “JR” Collins, have sadly lost their lives in a series of devastating and separate car accidents that occurred just hours apart on the same stretch of road.
According to local reports, the heartbreaking sequence of events began around 2 a.m. when Alexus was driving her SUV along LA 67. For reasons still under investigation, her vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a culvert, causing it to flip. Authorities revealed that Alexus was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden and tragic nature of her death has sent shockwaves through the community and her loved ones.
Upon hearing of the tragic accident involving Alexus, her partner, JR Collins, reportedly rushed to the scene of the crash, overwhelmed by shock and grief. Sadly, on his way to the crash site at around 3:45 a.m., JR lost control of his vehicle while driving along the same LA 67 highway. His vehicle went off the road, and he was ejected during the crash, which resulted in him striking a tree. Emergency responders pronounced JR dead at the scene due to the severe injuries sustained.
The loss of both Alexus and JR within such a short time frame has left their families and community heartbroken. The couple leaves behind their beloved 4-year-old son, Gabriel, who is now the focus of love and care from both sides of the family.
