A Nigerian car dealer has raised serious alarm after a client who deposited the sum of ₦45 million for a vehicle purchase mysteriously disappeared and has remained unreachable for over two years.
This unusual case was revealed in a post shared by X (formerly Twitter) user @maziechidiime. The individual in question, who is identified as the Chairman/CEO of Echidiime Motors Limited, expressed deep concern and frustration over the long-standing situation that has left him and his team in confusion.
According to the dealer, the client had initially been introduced to him through the social media platform TikTok. Following their interaction and discussions, the client made a payment of ₦45 million in 2023 for a luxury vehicle. However, since the payment was received, all efforts to contact or trace the client have proven unsuccessful.
The car dealer further revealed that the client’s TikTok account has since been banned or deleted, cutting off any potential form of digital communication. He noted that the client stopped responding to calls and messages, and has completely disappeared from all known platforms.
In a desperate attempt to resolve the matter, the dealer said he approached the client’s bank to obtain further details about the transaction or trace his location using the bank account he paid from. Unfortunately, the bank has allegedly refused to provide any helpful information, citing confidentiality and policy issues.
Sharing his ordeal, he wrote: “A client paid for a vehicle worth ₦45 million naira and ghosted us since 2023. We have tried calling, texting, and reaching out to his bank but unfortunately, he’s an orphan🪶.”
He added, “Sincerely, what do you think we should do? Okay. But his TikTok account has been deleted since then, because we met on TikTok.”
