Bells University of Technology has expelled a 100-level student who physically assaulted a female student after discovering that she had recorded and shared a video of him with his side girlfriend.
The incident, which took place on March 10, 2025, reportedly escalated when the video was sent to his main girlfriend, causing significant issues in his relationship. Enraged by the situation, the male student, identified as Tony, retaliated by attacking the female student, referred to as Girl X, in a violent altercation that left her with severe injuries.
The university confirmed his expulsion in a formal statement released via its official page on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The announcement, which has since gone viral, read:
“It’s confirmed that the boy who assaulted a female student has been EXPELLED. He has also apologized, and his parents have offered to cover the girl’s school fees as compensation for the distress she suffered.”
The school management also issued an official public statement addressing the incident and reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance on violence and misconduct within the institution:
“Dear Bellstech Students,”
“This is to formally inform you that the school management has taken appropriate disciplinary action regarding the recent assault case involving a 100-level student on March 13, 2025.”
“Following a thorough investigation, the male student responsible for the attack has been EXPELLED from Bells University of Technology with immediate effect. Meanwhile, the female student involved in the case will continue her academic journey in the institution.”
“As a student community, we encourage everyone to refrain from any form of violence or behavior that violates school policies, disrupts academic peace, or negatively impacts fellow students. Bells University upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy against bullying, harassment, and assault.”
“Justice has been served, and the necessary disciplinary measures have been implemented.”
“Furthermore, we urge students to focus on and celebrate the institution’s achievements and the positive strides we continue to make, rather than only engaging in discussions during moments of controversy. We appreciate your patience, concerns, and active engagement on this matter. Let us collectively work towards maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all members of the Bells University community.”
Reports indicate that the assault took place at the university’s football field. Eyewitnesses stated that Tony ambushed Girl X after learning about the video she had recorded weeks earlier. Allegedly, the female student had captured footage of Tony spending time with another girl, which was later forwarded to his main girlfriend. Enraged by the consequences of the video, Tony resorted to violence.
A viral account detailing the attack stated:
“Tony attacked the girl after discovering that she had shared a video of him with his side girlfriend. The video had been recorded about a month earlier but was only recently sent to his main girlfriend, causing conflict in his relationship. In a fit of rage, Tony confronted the girl at the football field, physically assaulted her, and left her bleeding. Shockingly, he recorded a video of her injuries, captioning it: ‘Other girls will learn from this.’ Witnesses report that he shouted at her, demanding she apologize while continuing to threaten her.”
The brutal attack sparked outrage both within the university and across social media platforms, with students, activists, and concerned individuals condemning the act and demanding justice for the victim.
In response to the widespread criticism and calls for disciplinary action, the university administration acted swiftly, leading to the expulsion of Tony. His parents have since apologized on his behalf and offered to cover the victim’s school fees in an attempt to make amends.
The incident has ignited discussions about campus safety, violence against women, and the importance of maintaining ethical behavior in relationships. Many social media users have weighed in on the matter, with a mix of outrage, lessons, and advice on handling such situations.

@RedHatPentester: “This is pure evil. Very, very bad. But why would you take a picture of something that doesn’t concern you? Though the beating is wrong, being quiet sometimes can save us from a lot of trouble.”
@NwanevuBrianda1: “If I talk now, some guys will start calling me names. It’s time to put these guys in prison with hard labor. Anyone who indulges in domestic violence should be treated like a thief. Imagine the kind of inhumane treatment she received. This is horrendous.”
@N0HATESPEECH: “If your boyfriend is saying ‘she should have minded her business,’ this is an advice—please, you are dating a live wire. E fit shock you any one of these days.”
@swagnito: “She would not have sent any video to anybody. Relationship issues are not for you to settle or dissolve. Sad incident, though, but everyone would learn their lesson from this. The boy should be expelled and charged to court for attempted murder or battery.”
