Juventus are pushing forward with their ambitious plans to sign Victor Osimhen, but they must first secure approval from the Nigerian striker himself and finalize the exit of current star forward Dusan Vlahovic, according to renowned transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Serie A heavyweights reportedly contacted Osimhen’s representatives over the past weekend to discuss a possible move to Turin and assess his willingness to join the club. Juventus see Osimhen as a perfect fit to lead their attacking line in the upcoming season.
While Osimhen is said to be interested in staying in Europe — after previously turning down a highly lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal — he has not yet given Juventus the definitive “yes” they are waiting for. The club’s ability to move forward in negotiations heavily depends on receiving this final approval from the prolific Nigerian forward.
Juventus’ strategy is built on two crucial factors: first, convincing Osimhen to make the switch, and second, securing the sale of Vlahovic to create both financial and tactical space in their squad. Vlahovic has declined to renew his contract with Juventus and is currently valued at approximately €40 million on the transfer market.
The club intends to cash in on Vlahovic as soon as possible to help fund the Osimhen deal and rebuild their forward options. Additionally, Juventus are eyeing Lille’s Canadian striker Jonathan David, who is being considered as an alternative option and might be available on a free transfer, providing more flexibility to the club’s plans.
Meanwhile, Napoli are reportedly open to selling Osimhen this summer following tensions and a breakdown in their relationship with the player. However, a significant obstacle remains: Osimhen’s €75 million release clause only applies to offers from clubs outside Italy. This means Juventus would need to negotiate directly with Napoli for a separate deal, potentially paying a higher fee than foreign suitors would.
Osimhen, 25, showcased his remarkable goal-scoring ability during the 2024/25 season while on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray. He registered an impressive 37 goals and eight assists, leading the team to a Turkish Super Lig title and further boosting his reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal strikers.
Juventus view Osimhen as the ideal player to rejuvenate their attack and drive their ambitions both domestically and in Europe. The club’s directors are reportedly ready to open formal talks with Napoli as soon as they receive Osimhen’s green light and complete Vlahovic’s transfer out.
The coming weeks are expected to be decisive. Should Osimhen officially agree to join, Juventus are prepared to accelerate negotiations rapidly, finalise the sale of Vlahovic, and secure their marquee signing to spearhead a new chapter in Turin.
