Manchester United are facing a significant shake-up as the club has been hit with transfer requests from no fewer than five senior first-team players, signaling a possible mass exodus as they prepare for a major rebuild under new manager Ruben Amorim.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, key figures Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have each formally informed the club of their intention to leave Old Trafford during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This unexpected development has posed a serious challenge to Manchester United’s pre-season preparations, which are scheduled to kick off next week. It has also cast uncertainty over the club’s planning for the new Premier League campaign as Amorim looks to reshape the squad to match his tactical vision and objectives.

Marcus Rashford, one of United’s longest-serving stars and homegrown talents, is believed to be pushing for a high-profile move to Barcelona. Sources suggest that the 27-year-old forward is prioritizing a switch to the Spanish giants over potential offers from Premier League rivals or other European clubs.

Jadon Sancho, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea, is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Juventus. The Italian club is eager to finalize a permanent deal for the England international winger. United, meanwhile, are understood to be demanding a transfer fee in the region of £25 million as they look to recoup some of their investment.

Antony, who was loaned to Real Betis last season, is also actively exploring a departure. While Betis are interested in retaining the Brazilian attacker, financial constraints could complicate their pursuit. Additionally, Serie A club Como and Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly monitoring his availability closely, waiting to see if a deal can be structured.

Alejandro Garnacho’s situation remains unresolved. The talented 21-year-old forward is said to have drawn interest from Chelsea, who are considering making a move for the Argentine after his lack of game time in the latter stages of the season. His omission from the Europa League final starting lineup further fueled speculation about his uncertain future at the club.

Tyrell Malacia, who has struggled with multiple injuries since his arrival at United, has also decided to seek opportunities elsewhere in hopes of securing more consistent playing time and reigniting his career.

In response to these developments, Manchester United have granted the five players additional time away from training and have officially excused them from participating in the start of pre-season activities. The club has assured that medical and virtual support will still be provided to them during this period of uncertainty.

United have also clarified that should any of the players remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the transfer window, they will be fully reintegrated into the squad and given a fair opportunity to compete for places under Amorim’s management.

Meanwhile, the club’s recent acquisition, Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, is expected to report for pre-season duty as planned. He will join the squad for their upcoming pre-season tour of the United States, where he is anticipated to play a key role in Amorim’s early plans and tactical experiments.
