A fresh graduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has shared an emotional video online, breaking down in tears after her iPhone 14 was stolen during her convocation ceremony.
The heartbreaking moment was captured in a series of videos posted on TikTok, where the young lady could be seen crying uncontrollably while explaining how what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life ended in misery.
According to her, she had been excited about graduating and had prepared in advance by taking several photos and videos to commemorate the day. Unfortunately, before she could even enter the convocation hall, her iPhone was stolen from her bag.
“So with all the convocation paparazzi I did, all the content, everything because I was super excited—only for my phone to actually be stolen today on the day of my convocation,” she narrated tearfully.
“It feels like a dream, somebody should wake me up. I lost my iPhone 14, the phone I’ve used for two years. Someone stole it.”
She went on to say that her parents had travelled all the way from Ibadan to celebrate her graduation, but the excitement and joy quickly turned into sorrow following the theft.
“I opened my bag and couldn’t find my phone. I didn’t even get to enter the hall. I’ve been crying since morning. I can’t afford another phone—not even an Android. I don’t know where to start from, I’m so sad,” she added while sobbing.
In a fit of anger and frustration, she placed a curse on the thief: “The person that did this, you’ll never know peace.”
The video quickly went viral, prompting a wave of sympathy and reactions from users across various platforms. Many people shared similar experiences and offered words of encouragement, while others offered advice on how to possibly track the stolen phone.
