The Nigerian Christian community is currently engulfed in deep sorrow following the sudden and tragic passing of Reverend Azzaman David, a widely respected and fearless preacher who touched the lives of many through his ministry and unwavering faith.
Rev. Azzaman, who faithfully served as the presiding pastor of The King Worship Chapel and Ministry located in Kaduna State, tragically lost his life on Saturday in a fatal motor accident. The unfortunate incident occurred while he was returning from Makurdi in Benue State, where he had just concluded leading a highly impactful three-day crusade attended by many believers eager to deepen their faith and spiritual understanding.
While the exact details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain limited and have yet to be fully disclosed, a close family friend and fellow clergyman, Reverend Mohammed Mohammed, confirmed that Rev. Azzaman succumbed to his injuries and passed away instantly at the scene of the accident, leaving a significant void in the hearts of his congregation and followers nationwide.
Rev. Azzaman was not only known for his pastoral duties within Kaduna but also gained widespread recognition across Nigeria and beyond through social media platforms such as Facebook. There, he frequently hosted live sessions, engaging boldly in theological debates with Muslim scholars, atheist thinkers, and even fellow Christians, which earned him a strong and diverse following of believers who admired his courage and commitment to defending the Christian faith.
In light of this devastating loss, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), representing the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has publicly expressed their profound grief and sadness. They described Rev. Azzaman’s death as an irreplaceable loss not only to his immediate community but also to the wider body of Christ across Nigeria and beyond.
In an official statement released by CAN, they honored Rev. Azzaman’s legacy by saying:
“Evangelist Azzaman was a courageous preacher, an unapologetic defender of the Christian faith, and a passionate advocate for the rights of persecuted believers. His life and ministry were marked by boldness, spiritual conviction, and an unwavering commitment to truth and justice. His relentless dedication to spreading the gospel and standing up for those oppressed will forever inspire many.”
The association further emphasized his vital role in the Christian community by adding:
“Kaduna has truly lost a great soldier of Christ. Evangelist Azzaman stood tall in defence of Christianity, fearlessly speaking out against injustice and persecution. He was a prophetic voice, a bridge-builder, and a spiritual father to many across denominations and communities. His legacy will continue to influence and guide believers for generations to come.”
As the Nigerian Christian community mourns the loss of this great man of God, many are remembering his fearless spirit, his commitment to the faith, and the profound impact of his ministry. Plans for memorial services and tributes are expected to be announced in due course as family, friends, and followers come together to celebrate his life and l
egacy.
