Controversy has sparked online after popular content creator, Zicsaloma, publicly called out Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for allegedly refusing to admit his mother, who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Zicsaloma, who recently made headlines for his statements on his mother’s health, revealed that she is currently undergoing chemotherapy for the disease.
According to the content creator, his mother was rushed to a different hospital, where she received her first chemotherapy session. She was subsequently referred to LUTH for further treatment. Zicsaloma shared that his mother is in a critical state and unable to walk, which made the rejection at LUTH even more concerning.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Zicsaloma stated that his family, including his mother, sister, and a close associate, were denied entry. The hospital reportedly directed them to seek treatment elsewhere, despite them presenting the necessary test results to the staff.
Zicsaloma mentioned that the security staff informed them they would be allowed entry once the laboratory test results were released, which were expected to take three hours. However, despite waiting for this period, all efforts to gain entry into the hospital were unsuccessful.
The content creator expressed his frustration, stating that the lack of compassion from the medical staff was appalling. He highlighted the severity of the situation, stating, “The doctors are so unsympathetic, if someone is sick in this Nigeria, the person can just die.” His video calling out the hospital has since gone viral on social media, drawing attention to the issue of healthcare treatment in Nigeria.
