Nollywood actress Omowunmi Ajiboye has finally set the record straight on the nature of her relationship with popular actor and filmmaker Segun Ogungbe, revealing that they were never married or engaged as widely believed. In a candid and emotional interview on Oyinmomo TV, she addressed the persistent rumors and misinformation that have surrounded her private life for years.
Omowunmi disclosed that contrary to public opinion, Segun Ogungbe never officially met her family, and there was no formal marital union between them. She emphasized that while they share children together, that was the extent of their relationship.
“Let me set the record straight, Segun Ogungbe and I were never married, not even engaged. He never met my family. We only have kids together. The party that people are dragging me for was not sponsored by MC Oluomo. I paid for everything myself,” she clarified passionately during the interview.
Omowunmi further explained the viral incident at the party that sparked criticisms, stating that Segun only attended as a guest and was simply spending time with his children. She expressed her shock at the accusations of turning him into a “babysitter,” noting that they were already experiencing personal issues at the time, which the public was unaware of.
“Segun Ogungbe came as a guest to the party and his kids went to play with him. Will he chase his kids away? I was shocked that people said I turned him to a babysitter. We were already having issues then but nobody knew,” she said.
In an emotional plea to her fans and critics, Omowunmi urged the public to stop attacking her character and to show empathy, insisting that she never intentionally harmed Ogungbe’s life or career.
“To my fans, I beg you, please take it easy with me. I’m not a bad person, and I didn’t destroy Segun Ogungbe’s life. When I was in his life, things were good. And now that I’m not, his life is still going well. So please, let me live and enjoy my life,” she appealed sincerely.
She also took the opportunity to offer prayers to her critics, wishing them peaceful and loving homes, and protection from the kind of emotional pain she has experienced.
“I pray your own homes won’t be destroyed. I pray your kids are raised in love and not by strangers. I pray you don’t suffer sudden loss. Just leave me alone, please,” she concluded tearfully.
The interview has since sparked a wave of reactions across social media, with many fans and fellow actors expressing support and urging the public to respect her privacy and strength.
