Controversial activist Verydarkman has shared his thoughts on a trending Nollywood movie that was inspired by his life, explaining in detail why he disapproves of the film adaptation.
Earlier, a movie poster went viral online, showcasing the popular actor Gentle Jack portraying the character, VDM.
Taking to his Instagram page, the activist expressed his honest reaction to the movie and shared his views openly with his followers.
In a detailed post, Verydarkman clarified that he personally does not mind his life story being adapted into a movie.
However, his main issue lies with the fact that the filmmakers never contacted him to discuss or collaborate on the project, leaving him out of the creative process and misrepresenting his story.
“I have a problem with it, to be very honest I’m not even happy with it.. Baba Gentle Jack should have written to me saying, ‘VDM what is your story? I want to play your story,’” he said in part, highlighting his disappointment over the lack of communication.
He went on to caption his post as follows:
“By now I am sure most of you have seen the movie NOLLYWOOD DID WHERE LEGENDARY GENTLE JACK PLAY ME (very dark man). Honestly, I am not happy about the movie, it cr!nggd me. I was so irrrtdd even watching it, they got the right character and our look alike however the story was just !rrrt@tnng.”
