Despite the backlash, a chance meeting at an airport between the two public figures presented an opportunity for clarity and conversation. During a recent interview, Odumodublvck recounted their discussion and revealed the emotions and motivations behind his controversial post.

According to the rapper, he began the conversation with respect, greeting Peter Obi politely before expressing his frustration about the insults he has received online. Odumodublvck explained that these insults were a result of his public support for Obi during the 2023 presidential election campaign, a move that subjected him to significant criticism from different quarters.

He added that, as an artist, his music is his career, and he had simply hoped for mutual support in return. The rapper also revealed a personal moment from election day, sharing how he couldn’t vote until his then-68-year-old mother accompanied him to the polling unit to ensure he could cast his vote.

He said in part:

“Respect to the man first of all. When I saw him I said: sir, good morning. Because of you they are insulting me online. It is true because when you were presidential candidate I came and I supported you. I even sang about it. You know what it is for an artist to come out and support a presidential candidate? Backlash. I even told him that that day they didn’t even allow me to vote. I had to go and call my mother. Because that time she was 68. She came and followed me to the polling unit.”
