Renowned Nigerian entrepreneur and hair vendor, Wanneka, has shared a harrowing account of her terrifying experience surviving a fire outbreak alongside her family. The mother of four took to Instagram to recount the traumatic event, describing the moments of terror that unfolded in the early hours of the morning. According to her post, the fire broke out at approximately 2:18 am, right beside her bed where she was resting with her husband and their infant child. In a heartfelt statement, Wanneka expressed deep gratitude for their survival, attributing their safety to divine intervention.
The incident occurred while Wanneka, her husband, and their baby were fast asleep in their bedroom. Prior to the outbreak, Wanneka had spent the evening enjoying quality time with her husband on the couch, watching a movie and playing, before eventually heading to bed. She vividly recalled how the fire started just behind their bed, in close proximity to where they were sleeping. In her emotional post, Wanneka emphasized that the fire could have easily escalated if not for the timely wake-up call from her husband.
“2.18am last night right behind our bed. With my husband and our infant. Once again God did this thing,” she wrote, reflecting on the shocking events. Despite the overwhelming panic, Wanneka quickly reacted and managed to flee the house with her husband, who suffered injuries while rushing to safety with their young son. The fire began and ended in the vicinity of their bed, sparing other areas such as the thick curtains nearby, but the danger was incredibly close. Wanneka later questioned what would have happened if her husband hadn’t woken her up in time, or if they had been in a deeper sleep, illustrating just how narrowly they escaped disaster.
In the wake of the traumatic event, Wanneka shared her gratitude for their lives, despite the emotional and physical scars they endured. "What if hubby didn’t wake up early? What if we were all sleeping so deep?" she pondered, acknowledging how close they came to disaster. Despite the shock and trauma of the fire, Wanneka remains thankful for the protection and grace they received, emphasizing that they are alive, healthy, and together. She ended her post with a message of thanks to her creator, expressing her belief that divine intervention had played a major role in their survival.
