Social media critic Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has broken his silence to address the viral rumors surrounding his alleged exclusion from Obi Cubana’s star-studded 50th birthday bash and claims that he was deported from China. The controversial allegations, which have dominated social media platforms, were sparked by a post from media personality Radiogad, who alleged that VDM, based in Abuja, was not invited to the exclusive event held in the Nigerian capital and had attempted to force his way into the party. The post quickly gained traction, leading to widespread speculation and mockery regarding VDM's absence from the guest list.
Radiogad's post did not stop at criticizing VDM, as the media personality also targeted other high-profile individuals, including Nollywood actors Yul Edochie and Judy Austin, who were said to have also been excluded from the guest list. The mocking tone of Radiogad's post added fuel to the fire, and it wasn’t long before these claims spread across social media like wildfire. However, VDM was quick to dismiss the rumors, taking to his own social media platforms to address the false reports directly.
In his response, VDM expressed his frustration with the fabrications, asserting that the stories being circulated were the result of critics and detractors who were eagerly awaiting his downfall. According to VDM, these individuals had hoped for his failure, and when that didn't happen, they resorted to concocting malicious stories about him. He boldly rejected the accusation that he had tried to gatecrash Obi Cubana's exclusive party, calling the rumors "baseless" and "unfounded." He pointed out that there was no evidence to support the allegations and criticized those behind the stories for spreading negativity without justification.
VDM's statement, shared across his social media accounts, made it clear that he viewed the entire situation as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation. He said, “The thing is they are waiting for my downfall, it didn’t happen. Then they decided to plan my downfall. The plan failed, so they created a story to make themselves happy… pitiful. Just Google The Ratel.” This reference to "The Ratel" appeared to be a nod to his previous achievements and the way critics were attempting to manipulate situations in a bid to ruin his image.
Furthermore, VDM also addressed another wave of rumors about him supposedly being deported from China, a claim initially made by actor Uche Maduagwu. According to VDM, this was another false and malicious rumor created by those who were determined to damage his reputation further. He dismissed the deportation story as just another "fabricated attempt" to harm him. VDM’s clear and confident rebuttal of these claims emphasized his belief that such rumors were nothing more than distractions from his success and personal achievements.

Despite the negative stories circulating about him, VDM remains steadfast in his belief that he is focused on his career and growth. He has been a prominent figure in Nigerian social media circles, known for his sharp commentary and bold takes on various issues. His resilience in the face of these rumors has only solidified his reputation as someone who is not easily brought down by baseless attacks and unfounded claims.
The controversy surrounding the viral rumors has sparked reactions from his followers and social media users, many of whom have rallied behind VDM in support. Some have expressed disappointment over the spread of false information, while others have applauded VDM for setting the record straight with such clarity. As the story continues to unfold, it is clear that VDM’s response has left many questioning the motivations behind the rumors and wondering how much of what is shared online can truly be trusted.
