Nigerian social media sensation and controversial activist Martins Otse Vincent, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has officially returned to the digital space after being released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
His comeback has sparked intense reactions across various online platforms, as he marked his return with a bold and unapologetic video aimed at the Nigerian political and justice system.
VDM was arrested on May 2, 2025, following claims that he ignored several invitations from the anti-graft agency. Since his release, he wasted no time in resuming his usual vocal criticism of societal issues.
In the viral clip shared on Instagram, the activist made a cryptic yet forceful statement that appeared to take aim at existing authorities, stating:
“We now have four arms of government: The Legislative Arm, The Judicial Arm, The Executive Arm, And the Ratel Movement (we just starting).”
The “Ratel Movement” is believed to be a symbolic reference to his growing base of followers and supporters who share his vision of holding leaders accountable.
He concluded the video with his signature phrase, which many have interpreted as a direct challenge to the EFCC and political elites: “Y’all will learn. Don’t play.”
His remarks have triggered a whirlwind of reactions online, with some praising his courage while others called for caution in his approach. Political commentators are closely watching the situation as his words continue to echo through the Nigerian social media space.
