Popular Nigerian activist and social media personality, Verydarkman, has expressed deep disappointment after discovering his genotype, a revelation that has affected his romantic prospects.
The outspoken influencer recently underwent a medical test to confirm his genotype and blood group. Until now, he had always believed that he was AA, a genotype considered safe for pairing with any other genotype. However, the results revealed that he is actually AS, a status that carries certain restrictions when it comes to choosing a life partner, especially to avoid the risk of having children with sickle cell anemia.
Verydarkman shared his shock during a live session, revealing that all three women he currently has feelings for also happen to be AS genotype. This means that pairing with any of them poses a high genetic risk of producing children with sickle cell disease, a serious hereditary condition.
In his words, “They just told me my genotype and my blood group now…I’ve always thought that I was AA. When they told me, I asked some babes I know say there’s a possibility... the first one say na AS, the second and third one say na AS….”
He used the opportunity to encourage his followers to take genotype testing seriously and early, stressing the importance of knowing one’s health status before making romantic or marital decisions.
