The incident began when Zlatan took to his X platform (formerly Twitter) to announce a generous giveaway, pledging N500,000 each to support small business owners who consistently promote their work online.

In his post, Zlatan wrote:“This is for the dedication and hustle—if you’ve always shared or advertised your work or products on your timeline, this one’s for you. What does your small business need to thrive? How can I support you? I go check your timeline before I drop sha.”

Excited by the opportunity, the vendor engaged with the post and was lucky enough to be selected as one of the beneficiaries. However, before finalizing the transfer, Zlatan decided to review the vendor’s past tweets to learn more about her.

While scrolling through her timeline, he stumbled upon a tweet from 2020 in which she had ridiculed him. The tweet was a response to a post Zlatan had made about an influencer he had issues with in 2018. The vendor had replied sarcastically, saying: “This one dey find who go drag am make him trend. We won’t drag you ooo, carry your noise enter Aso Rock. It’s not appreciated here.”

Upon seeing the tweet, Zlatan was taken aback and had second thoughts about sending her the N500,000. He humorously shared his internal dilemma with fans online, writing:“As I wan give I dey check wetin dem don tweet about me before, join. This one don enter me for 2020 and I don promise 500k. How we wan do am like this? 😂”

Many social media users reacted to the revelation with mixed opinions. Some argued that Zlatan should overlook the past and proceed with the giveaway, while others felt the vendor’s previous actions had consequences.

One user commented: “People need to learn to be careful with what they tweet. You never know where your words will lead you in the future.”

Another user wrote: “This is why they say make una dey respect people no matter what. She don block her own blessing.”

Others defended the vendor, saying she was simply expressing her opinion at the time and should not be judged for it now.

Meanwhile, Zlatan has yet to confirm if he will still send the N500,000 or if he will choose another beneficiary for the giveaway.
