Nigerian singer, Terry Apala, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to controversial activist VeryDarkMan, demanding that he take down a defamatory post alleging the singer's involvement in bribery.
In the controversial post, VeryDarkMan claimed that Terry Apala, along with DJs Tunez and Osas, had been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and had received money from the agency. The post quickly gained traction online, sparking outrage and confusion among fans and the general public.

In response, Terry Apala, through his legal representatives, has strongly refuted the claims. A letter addressed to VeryDarkMan describes the allegations as entirely false and damaging to Terry Apala’s reputation and public image. The letter accuses the activist of attempting to use the singer’s name to chase clout and attract attention, while simultaneously undermining the credibility of the EFCC.
Terry Apala’s legal team emphasized that the bribery allegations are baseless and malicious. He asserted that he has never engaged in bribery or any corrupt financial dealings, either with the EFCC or any other organization or individual. To support his claims, the singer provided an alibi, stating he had been out of the country for several months and had also been observing the Ramadan fast during the period in question.
As stated in the letter:
“I want to state clearly that this bribery allegation is a total lie and has no basis in reality, especially recently. I have never bribed anyone, nor have i been involved in any kind of financial corruption with any organization or individual, whether public or private”
“It troubles me that this unfounded accusation is been spread around without proof. It needs to be publicly refuted quickly to protect the integrity of the EFCC and to clear my name from this unfair connection.”
