Sharing his thoughts on his official Instagram page, Woli Arole lamented that the modern-day church seems to be losing sight of its original divine mission, focusing more on financial gain and worldly riches than on the core message of salvation and eternal life through Christ.

Woli Arole, who initially gained widespread recognition through his comedic skits infused with spiritual themes before fully dedicating himself to ministry, stressed that the gospel’s true message is being overshadowed by the obsession with money and prosperity preaching.

“I say this as God’s prophet: Mammon is already creaking into the church. The talk of money, the worship of money. Christ did not die so we could become rich; he died so we could have eternal life. Wake up, oh saints. Share this message!!” he passionately declared in his post.

His bold statement has sparked widespread conversation on social media platforms, with many users resonating with his caution against the growing prosperity gospel that emphasizes material wealth as a sign of divine favor. Others have commended Arole for addressing a sensitive topic that many religious leaders tend to avoid.

One Instagram user, @kolly.jay99, commented: “They will soon quote 2Cor 8:9 for you Woli. Dey play.”, reflecting on how scripture is often misused to justify wealth-focused preaching.

Another follower, @olorunnisola_ifedayo, shared a thoughtful perspective: “I pray the Lord gives the ‘SAINTS’ an understanding spirit. If Christ didn’t die so we can become rich, I’m sure he also didn’t die so we can become poor or lazy. The message is loud enough and that’s the fact that we shouldn’t worship money or any other thing at all apart from God. Matthew 6:33 TPT says, ‘So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added

 to you.’”
