Nollywood actor and producer, Frederick Leonard, has shared his thoughts on the current state of social media, expressing his belief that the truly sensible individuals are absent from these platforms. The actor took to his Instagram page to discuss a recent experience he had while navigating through social media. He described how he encountered a post where a man was sharing his views on a particular issue, prompting Frederick to check the comments section to see the reactions.

To his surprise, while scrolling through the comments, he came across a lady who disagreed with the man's opinion. Rather than offering a thoughtful response, she began her comment by insulting the original poster, calling him an "aging fool," despite the fact that the man was likely much older than her. This led Frederick to reflect on the quality of discussions on social media and how personal attacks are often used to express dissent rather than engaging in meaningful dialogue.

Frederick further elaborated that he typically avoids the comment sections of posts because, over time, he has concluded that the people who possess real sense and maturity are rarely found engaging in such spaces. According to him, "people who have sense are not on social media." After reading the lady’s harsh comment, Frederick clicked on her profile and noticed that she was one of his followers. Unimpressed by her disrespectful comment, he made the decision to block her, citing how troubling it is to see the state of social media today.

Sharing his opinion on the matter, Frederick said:

‘’I was just going through social media and someone had just put up a post sharing his view on something and then I was going through the comment section.”

“I usually don’t go through the comment section because I have come to the conclusion that those who actually have sense are not in the comment section, people who have sense are not on social media.”

“Then I saw this lady wanting to make a submission but her submission started with an insult, calling someone who is old enough to be her father ‘an aging fool.’ That was how she started her statement before she now even bothered to make her point.”

“I clicked on her profile and saw she was following me. I blocked her. It is just terrible what social media has become.”
