In a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, Shade reflected on her marital journey and openly stated that her decision to marry billionaire businessman Razak Okoya, who is currently 85 years old, has been a fulfilling experience. Shade married Okoya in 1999 when she was just 21, and despite their significant age difference, she explained that she has never felt deprived or disadvantaged in any way for choosing to marry someone older. According to her, the love and support she receives from her husband have made their union rewarding, and she has no regrets about her choice.

However, Shade remains firm in her belief that her marriage to Okoya has been an enriching experience. She stated, “My husband has been very generous with me, and defends me anywhere. God said this is where I will be. We met each other, and he liked me and he did not waste time at all.”
