Seyi Vodi, the renowned Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, has made headlines once again with the grand unveiling of his new multimillion-naira fashion complex, a monumental addition to his legacy in the fashion industry.
The celebrated designer and founder of Vodi Group took to Instagram to showcase the massive edifice, sharing a heartfelt message that not only detailed his journey but also addressed critics who have questioned the source of his wealth over the years.
In the video tour, Seyi Vodi walked viewers through the state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate a full-fledged fashion academy, tailoring units, administrative offices, and an exclusive VIP lounge for high-end clients.
According to Vodi, this project represents over two decades of relentless effort, discipline, and vision. “24 years of non-stop work. No rest, no sleep, just consistent delivery. And now, this… a legacy,” he captioned the post.
However, in a striking part of his message, Seyi Vodi called out the culture of suspicion and envy that plagues many successful entrepreneurs in Nigeria. He questioned why many Nigerians find it hard to believe in legitimate success through fashion, noting that globally, fashion designers build billion-dollar empires without being scrutinized for fraud.
“If our society wasn’t ravaged by poverty and conditioned to distrust success, people would not keep asking, ‘Is it only fashion that is giving him all this money?’” he wrote.
He went on to compare himself to renowned German designer Philipp Plein, who owns private jets and lives a life of luxury, yet is celebrated rather than doubted. Vodi stressed that it’s time for Nigerians to change their mindset and believe in the possibilities of success through creativity and hard work.
