Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has broken her silence in the face of mounting criticism following her heartfelt declaration of love for controversial social media activist Verydarkman.
The drama began shortly after Verydarkman’s release, when Sarah took to her Instagram page to welcome him back, expressing immense joy and stating that his return made her night incredibly special.
She referred to him as her “sweet husband” and publicly professed her love, making it clear that her feelings were both deep and sincere.
However, the romantic declaration did not sit well with many online users. Sarah's post was quickly met with a flurry of negative reactions and mocking comments from critics across various social media platforms.
In response to the backlash, Sarah Martins did not hold back. Taking again to Instagram, she addressed her critics directly, defending her affection for Verydarkman and sharing more personal sentiments about their bond.
She revealed that both she and Verydarkman coincidentally share the same last name—Martins—which she took as a sign of destiny. According to her, in her heart, they are already spiritually united in marriage.
She wrote: “I see all the hate comments on Instablog concerning my undying love for my Prince Charming VDM. In case you haven’t noticed, I have his last name ‘Martins’. Sarah Martins… Vincent Martins. We are officially married in my heart. If you can’t wish us well, pls leave us alone.”
Sarah also disclosed the depth of her feelings, revealing she often stays up at night thinking of him, and boldly claimed him as hers, regardless of public opinion.
“It’s 2am and I’m still awake thinking of my baby. Y’all, he’s mine, period,” she added, showing no signs of retreat despite the online trolling.
