Media personality, Radiogad, has openly called out Obi Cubana over his reaction to an online claim made by a young man who referred to himself as the billionaire’s next-of-kin.
The controversy began after a video surfaced online showing the young man, alleged to be an adopted son of Obi Cubana, confidently referring to himself as the billionaire’s next-of-kin in a light-hearted TikTok post.
Shortly after the video went viral, Obi Cubana shared a post featuring his biological son, publicly affirming him as his true next-of-kin. This move stirred up heated conversations on social media, with netizens divided on whether the business mogul handled the situation appropriately.
Many social media users weighed in with differing opinions, but Radiogad strongly expressed his disappointment in Obi Cubana’s public dismissal of the boy’s statement. According to him, the boy was likely just having harmless fun and meant no disrespect or serious claim to any inheritance.
“That young boy was just catching cruise, having a moment of confidence and excitement online,” Radiogad said. “Why make him feel less than? An adopted child deserves the same love, protection, and respect as a biological child. If you didn’t love him as your own, why adopt him in the first place?”
Radiogad further emphasized that all children, adopted or biological, should be treated equally and publicly celebrated the same way. He condemned any action that could lead to an adopted child feeling inferior or unloved, especially when the child openly expresses admiration and loyalty.
“You can't raise a child as your own for years and then withdraw affection publicly. The damage that can do emotionally is deep,” he added.
