Nollywood actress Queeneth Hilbert has taken a bold step by filing a lawsuit against her colleague, Destiny Etiko, just a few days after the latter initiated legal action against her, demanding a sum of N100 million over allegations of defamation.
It would be recalled that Destiny Etiko recently dragged Queeneth Hilbert to court, claiming that her statements were defamatory and had tarnished her reputation in the entertainment industry. The legal suit seeks damages for the alleged false claims made against her.
The controversy between the two actresses started when Queeneth Hilbert accused Destiny Etiko of snatching other people’s boyfriends, a statement that sparked heated reactions online and led to the legal battle.
As part of the lawsuit, Destiny Etiko’s legal representatives issued a statement demanding that Queeneth Hilbert immediately stop making further defamatory statements, publicly retract her allegations within 48 hours, and issue a formal apology.
In response, Queeneth Hilbert has now countered with her own lawsuit, arguing that the legal action against her was an attempt to infringe on her personal liberty. Her lawsuit seeks to prevent any form of arrest or legal intimidation against her as a result of the ongoing dispute.
The legal document filed by Queeneth Hilbert’s lawyers not only stops any potential arrest but also places a perpetual injunction that allows her to continue with her daily activities without interference.
The unfolding legal drama between the two Nollywood stars has continued to spark conversations among fans and industry insiders, with many awaiting the next development in their ongoing feud.
