In October 2024, fans noticed that Queen Mercy Atang unfollowed her husband on Instagram and removed their wedding photos, which quickly sparked speculation and rumors of trouble in their marriage.
However, during a recent interview, Queen Mercy addressed the matter, explaining that her actions were intentional and strategic. She disclosed that the move was not due to any marital issues but rather a personal decision to take her marriage off social media.
“I was just trying to take my relationship off social media. Because my husband’s account is out there, a lot of girls feel the need to slide in his DM to say positive and negative things,” she explained.
She also mentioned that she was inspired by other celebrities who choose to protect their relationships by keeping their spouses' details private and off public platforms.
Despite her good intentions, Queen Mercy acknowledged that her decision caused unnecessary speculation and concern among fans, as many assumed it signaled a marital fallout. The widespread attention eventually prompted her to reverse her decision.
