
Street-pop sensation Portable has spoken out following a disturbing incident that occurred after his recent performance in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The energetic artist, widely known for his hit track “Zazoo Zeh,” revealed in a video posted to his Instagram page that his vehicle was vandalized during the grand opening of a hotel where he had been scheduled to perform. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after he had completed his set at the event.
According to Portable, as he approached his vehicle after the show, a member of the crowd unexpectedly ran up and violently smashed the rear side glass of his car. In addition to the shattered glass, the vehicle’s backlight was also broken. The singer expressed deep frustration over the unprovoked act, questioning why someone would damage his property when he was only there to entertain and work.
“Na work I come do, na so I go back see my motor, dem don break am,” Portable lamented in the clip. He went on to express gratitude that no one inside the car at the time of the incident sustained any injuries, as things could have turned out much worse.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Portable praised the swift action of the police officers present at the scene. He stated that the suspect was apprehended immediately and urged the authorities to take the necessary legal actions to ensure justice is served. The artist stressed the need for improved security measures at events to prevent such occurrences in the future.
The incident has sparked online conversations regarding the safety of entertainers in Nigeria, especially at large public events. Many fans have taken to social media to show support for Portable, while also calling for better crowd control and security planning during shows and public appearances involving celebrities.
