During a court session held on April 14, 2025, Peter took to the witness stand, testifying against Jude, a development that quickly made waves across social media platforms, triggering mixed reactions from fans and observers.
In the midst of the online chatter, Peter Okoye has now addressed the situation publicly for the first time. Taking to his official page on X (formerly Twitter), the singer dropped a cryptic and deeply personal post that seems to reflect on his recent decision and long-standing family issues.
Peter revealed that for over 20 years, he struggled in silence under the weight of unhealthy family expectations and manipulative dynamics. He stressed the importance of choosing one’s mental health and peace of mind over toxic familial bonds.
His tweet reads, “Don’t let ‘family’ be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did — for over 20 years plus. And it almost cost me everything. But now I know better — love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family does not steal from you. Family that steals and breaks you isn’t family at all.”
He continued by reaffirming his stance on self-care and mental well-being, adding, “Real family doesn’t drain you, shame you, discriminate against you, or ignore your pain. My sanity matters. My mental health is a priority. IF IT COSTS MY MENTAL HEALTH, THEN IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE.”
