Pastor Bolaji Idowu, lead Pastor at Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), recently shared his insightful advice on why individuals should avoid dating when they are jobless.
According to Pastor Bolaji Idowu, being without a job severely limits an individual's choices and impacts the standards they hold when it comes to relationships and attraction.
He emphasized that many who once dated while unemployed often realize, once they become financially stable, that poverty was the real factor keeping them in those relationships rather than true love or compatibility.
Pastor Bolaji Idowu explained:
“Don’t date when you are jobless. There are some relationships that seem attractive, but they are not truly so; it’s because you have no money. When you start earning your own money, you will be surprised at how you should never have fallen in love with certain people. It wasn’t love; it was hunger induced. Never negotiate on an empty stomach — you will get a bad deal. Having a crumbs mentality means when you are poor, small things satisfy you easily. One sign of this mentality is settling for less so quickly. You need to shift your mindset to think in abundance. I hang around people and hear them talk about goals like, ‘If I can just travel to America.’ How can traveling to America be your goal?”
