Popular content creator Nons Miraj recently opened up about her remarkable journey to financial success, revealing how she made her first million without relying on any man for financial support or assistance.
During a candid discussion on a recent podcast, the actress, comedian, and social media influencer shared the story of her humble beginnings, which eventually led her to become a well-known figure in the entertainment industry.

Nons Miraj revealed that she initially started her career in Nollywood, but the financial returns from acting were far from satisfactory. She recalled how, despite putting in significant effort and time into shoots, the pay she received was insufficient to meet her financial needs. She explained, “It was rubbish money; unlike a salary job where you make 70K monthly, they pay you 90K after shooting for three months. It was not worth it.”
Determined to find a more reliable source of income, Nons Miraj ventured into the business of buying and reselling perfumes and jewelry. She explained how she would visit Balogun market to purchase items like perfumes and jewelry at affordable prices, only to sell them for a significant markup. “I would go to Balogun market, buy perfumes and jewelry for N3K and sell them at N50K. I divided the profit into two: one for my piggy bank and the other to fund my life,” she shared.
Though she acknowledged that men were interested in her during this time, she made it clear that none of them were providing financial support. “Men were coming but not the type you think will sponsor your life. I was in a relationship but not in the sugar daddy vibe,” she remarked, emphasizing her independence.
Her breakthrough came when she fully embraced content creation and began to establish a strong presence on social media. As her popularity grew, her income from acting also increased. She noted, “I was saving with my mum, I had my own savings, my salon was there, and acting started paying N300K after social media presence.”
The transformation of her brand into “Ada Jesus” marked a major turning point in her career. With this new persona, she gained significant attention, leading to endorsement deals and her first major earnings of $20,000. Nons Miraj attributed her success to her persistence and hard work, especially after launching her popular YouTube series, Love Show.
Reflecting on her journey, she proudly stated, “I didn’t wait for a man to give me; my pride grew when I started making more money. There’s nothing I couldn’t give myself.”
Nons Miraj’s story serves as an inspiring example of resilience, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance, particularly in a society where many people assume that female success is only possible through the support of wealthy male sponsors. Her journey is proof that hard work, smart decisions, and independence can lead to remarkable achievements, regardless of gender or societal expectations.
