Nigerian travel content creator Alma Asinobi has revealed her ambitious plan to embark on a groundbreaking journey across all seven continents in just 70 hours, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record. This incredible feat will not only showcase her adventurous spirit but also highlight the challenges faced by travelers with low-mobility passports, particularly Africans.
Her record-breaking adventure is scheduled to commence on March 15, 2025, starting from Australia and concluding in Nigeria. Throughout the journey, she will be navigating multiple time zones, continents, and rigorous travel schedules to achieve what few have accomplished before.
Beyond her personal goal of setting a world record, Alma Asinobi’s mission is to draw attention to the visa restrictions that many African passport holders encounter while traveling internationally. She hopes to shed light on the disparities in global mobility and the barriers imposed on individuals from countries with lower-ranking passports.
In a widely circulated Instagram video, she opened up about the immense difficulties she faced in securing visas for the trip. She disclosed that she had to apply for over ten visas, enduring multiple rejections and setbacks before receiving the necessary approvals.

Sharing her experience, she stated: “I’m undertaking this journey with a Nigerian passport to shine a spotlight on the issue of passport privilege. After recovering from the exhausting process of applying for more than ten visas—and facing two specific visa rejections a total of five times—I will delve deeper into the issue of passport inequality and the second-class treatment faced by citizens from countries with limited global mobility.”
She continued, “This adventure is about pushing the limits of one of the lowest-ranking passports in the world to demonstrate what is possible despite the obstacles. I want to inspire others to explore the world, even with restrictions, and bring greater awareness to this much-overlooked issue that affects over half the global population, with Africans—both on the continent and in the diaspora—being among the most affected.”
Asinobi’s journey will attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all continents, which is presently held by Indian travelers Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra. The duo achieved the feat in three days, one hour, five minutes, and four seconds. If successful, Asinobi will set a new benchmark for travelers worldwide.
Her announcement has sparked widespread discussions online, with many social media users praising her courage and determination. Supporters have expressed admiration for her efforts to raise awareness about travel barriers faced by Africans and her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
